So I ran into an odd guritas rat. It has me scrambled so I can't warp away and at the saame time it's attacks are very weak but I don't carry any weapons so I can't destroy it anyway. Does his scramble ever wear out or do I have to sit here like a lemon for 30 minutes til he blows me up?

I'm on a minimalist scouting adventure and so I left my drones at home after losing some 7 of them to pirates earlier.

Edited by: Gordon Marinius on 12/10/2008 14:04:28 When I got back on after the daily downtime the rat was gone. Ironicly I later lost the ship to a pirate.
Although he did open a private channel and I told him I was prepared to pay a ransom for the ship he blew up the ship and then wanted a ransom for the pod. That's a hundred million ISK ship equiped only with three T1 strip miners. The wreck will be worth at most 1-2 million then he wants a ransom for my implant-empty clone in the pod. I gave him a peice of my mind and so he blew up the pod. Saving me a long trip back home.
His corporation leader commented that SURGE only ransoms pods
I understand that pirates have to make a living too but all this ammounted to was a hundred million loss for me and a 2 million profit for him. Wouldn't it have been better for all parties if he had just accepted a 20-30 million ransom for the ship itself then let me go about my business?

I can see it now. Pirates gathered around the plasma bonfire, drinking space-rum. Everyone else talking about ransoming Rorqual's for billions after taking down the 20 ship escort. Then this guy goes "Oh yeah? Well today I took down a hulk! Got me a good 900.000 ISK for that "Strip Miner I" it droped" Owing to lack of Eve-related content, signature removed. Originally by: Baldour Ngarr You know that your clone is not worth paying a ransom for; but the pirate does not. He'd look a lot bigger fool if he'd taken a 30mill ransom for the Hulk and then found out you had two billion worth of implants in your head.
That's a gamble and now he ended up a fool anyway. From a capitalist perspective anyway. Mayby he sells the kill mail for 31 mill. I don't know. _______________

The argument was put forward that accepting 30 million to not blow up my ship would have made him a fool had he later found out that I was wearing billions worth of implants. To which I respond that if that makes him a fool then walking out of there with nothing at all to show for it (as he did) Must make him an even bigger fool.
I have multiple Hulks because it's a dangerous world. Insurance payouts are low and I don't want to ever have to end up without a ship or money. As it works now I could lose nine fully equiped ships and still have a fully equiped ship ready for mining. Granted I don't buy a new hulk everytime I lose one. I think I will wait til I'm down to mayby 3 spare hulks before I consider buying more of them. _______________

Edited by: Gordon Marinius on 13/10/2008 17:03:55 There where no really nice mods on them. I left everything back home except for the strip miners. The list you cite are items suggested to me. But Instead I bought some market available items of the same type.
If anything it was an attempted diplomatic mission.
It's a shame. You have a gang of pirates that have managed to lock down a low sec area. All that ore going to waste. Instead of leting some people mine from it and collect a cut from the miners in exchange for safety they blow up the miners so no miners come there. _______________

Fun in eve for me is making things explode, not sitting looking at a big wallet balance.
Well geting equipment to make things explode cost ISK too. _______________
